Viewing Devices in the List View

In the list view, you can get insights about the overall status of all the network devices at a site. You can filter the list of devices based on their type and status. You can also customize the columns that are displayed in the list view.

To view devices within a site, complete the following steps:

  1. In the HPE Aruba Networking Central landing page, select a site from the Sites menu.

Alternatively, click the expand icon on the Sites menu to search for a site from the list.

The site dashboard is displayed with the network and connectivity information for the site.

  2. In the site context, click Network.

The List view is displayed on the site dashboard.

Note:

When an offline device or set of offline devices are moved between sites, these devices will not be reflected in the new site until the devices are back online.

The following table describes the columns in the list view.

Table 1: Device Details

Column

Description

Name

Displays the device health icon, device name, and device status. The following device health icons are displayed:

  • —The device is in good health.

  • —The device is in fair health based on the device metrics. For example, an AP is in fair health when one or more radio metrics of the AP such as the channel utilization, noise floor, and channel quality are fair.

  • —The device is either offline or in poor health based on the device metrics. For example, an AP is in poor health when it is either offline, or when one or more AP metrics such as the CPU, memory, radio channel utilization, radio noise floor, and radio channel quality is poor.

Note:

The Firmware Version, Configuration Status, Last Seen, Device Function, Location, Notes, and Cluster Name columns are not visible by default and need to be enabled using the customize columns option. For more information, see Table Utilities.

Discrepancy in offline device count:

If the devices are offline when New Central is allowlisted for the customer, or HPE Aruba Networking Central is enabled in that cluster, then the offline devices will not reflect in the New Central UI.

Offline devices in the site movement scenario: If devices are offline in Central, and are moved to a new site, then they will not appear under the new site in New Central until they come online.

The above scenarios are applicable for all device types, including APs, gateways, and switches (AOS-CX and AOS-S).

When AOS-S switches are archived on the HPE GreenLake Inventory page, the devices are deleted from the Devices list view.

Hovering over a table row in the Devices list view displays other UI elements, described in the following table.
