Alerts

The following features and enhancements are added to Alerts:

  • Added the following new alerts:

    • DHCP Offer Timeout

    • DHCP Request Timeout

    • High 802.1X Authentication Latency

    • High MAC Authentication Latency

  • Implemented grouping for the following alerts:

    • Link MTU Mismatch

    • Link Speed Mismatch

    • VLAN Mismatch

    • VSX Enable/Disable Mismatch

    • Link PortType Mismatch

  • Improve Client Connectivity Experience—The Client Connectivity optimizer is used to assess the network performance quality. The insight detects the onboarding experience (time to connect) of clients on a particular network and provides an overall picture of how good or poor the overall connection experience is for various SSIDs on their sites. For more information, see Wireless Client Onboarding Experience.

  • Enable 6GHz Radio with Optimal Bandwidth to Improve WLAN Performance—The insight has been enhanced to support bandwidth optimization. For more information, see Enabling 6 GHz Radio with Optimal Bandwidth to Improve WLAN Performance.

AP Monitoring

The following enhancements are added to AP Monitoring:

  • AP Health—The AP Health card includes the following updates:

    • AP radio health computation now includes the metrics for frame tries and drops. Prior to this release, AP radio health was calculated based on noise floor, channel quality, and channel utilization metrics.

    • The Health card on the AP Dashboard now provides a Go To Last Seen Time button to view the details of an AP as captured when it was online last time. This button is available only if the AP is offline since less than or equal to seven days from the current day.

  • AP Network Dashboard—The Wired Interfaces card includes the following updates:

    • Side panel view for each port now provides a Usage graph that displays the aggregated value of transmitted and received data on the selected port for the time duration selected in the timeline.

    • Hovering on Hardware Status displays the health status of each metric such as CPU, Memory, and Temperature.

    • Clicking the port on the graph opens the side panel for that port.

  • AP Events—The Events card on the AP dashboard now displays Site, Reason, and BSSID columns in the expanded view. You can use site name and reason as keywords to search for specific events.

The following features and enhancements are added to Client Insights:

Critical Alerts

The Critical Alerts column is added to the Sites table. This column displays the number of alerts generated for each site.

Enhancement to AI-Search

The AI-Search feature now displays site-specific suggested queries in the Site context, as well as a navigational button in the search results page that navigates to the Devices or Clients context of a specific site, based on the search query.

Enhancement to Gateway Connectivity Performance Card

On the expanded Connectivity Performance card, you can view the Frames charts for error, broadcast, and multicast categories for a gateway.

Enhancement to Gateway Expanded Hardware Card

You can expand the hardware card to view the CPU and memory utilization charts of the gateway.

Enhancement to Gateway Properties Card

You can add important information related to a gateway as a note by clicking on the icon.

Enhancement to Reports

The following UI changes are added to Reports:

  • In the Reports table, the Last Run option is hyper-linked and navigates to the latest generated report in a new tab.

  • When you hover over a row in the Reports table and click the ellipsis icon you can now see Clone Report in addition to the Delete Generated Runs and Delete Report options. You can clone a report to make a copy of it and edit the report parameters without modifying the original.

  • In the Reports table, when you click the name of a report, the report information opens. The ellipsis icon next to the Status column now displays Send Email in addition to View, Delete , and Download CSV options.

Enhancement to Switch Connectivity Performance Card

The Uplink Utilization field in the Connectivity Performance card now displays the percentage of upload and download statistics of port utilization.

Enhancement to Switch Expanded Hardware Card

The CPU Utilization and Memory Utilization graphs of the Hardware expanded card now display the ideal baseline values. An error message is displayed if the CPU and memory utilization of the switch exceeds the baseline value.

Enhancement to Switch Hardware Card

The Power Consumption, PoE Capacity, and PoE Output fields of the Hardware care are not displayed if the switch does not support PoE or if there's no value available to be displayed. For more information, see Viewing Switch or Switch Stack Dashboard.

Enhancement to Switch Wired Interfaces Card

The following enhancements are added to the expanded view of the switch Wired Interfaces card:

  • Transceiver—The transceiver-related information is displayed in the side panel when a switch port is connected to a transceiver.

  • Port flaps— The port flap error is displayed in the faceplate and side panel of the Wired Interfaces card when a port flap is detected on the port. In this scenario, the site, device, and client health is changed to poor.

  • IP address—The IP address assigned to the port is displayed in the side panel when the VLAN mode is routed.

Enhancement to Troubleshooting Tools

The HPE Aruba Networking Central UI provides users with the following set of additional diagnostic tools to troubleshoot network and device issues efficiently:

  • Access Points—The following additional tests and parameters are added for APs:

    • Speed Test

    • Protocol parameter is added for Speed Test

    • NSLookup

    • DNS parameter is added for NSLookup

    • HTTP Test

    • Timeout parameter is added for HTTP Test

    • HTTPS Test

    • Timeout parameter is is added for HTTPS Test

    • TCP Test

    • Timeout parameter is is added for TCP Test

  • Gateways—The following additional parameters are added to troubleshoot gateways:

    • Ping—Packet size, Count, Time, and Dont fragment flag parameters are added for Ping test

    • iPerf—Port and Duration parameters are added for iPerf test

    • HTTP Test—Count and Interval parameters are added for HTTP Test

    • HTTPS Test—Count and Interval parameters are added for HTTP Test

  • You can now perform troubleshooting test for standalone as well as stack switches.

Enhancement to Unified Device List

The Unified Device List (UDL) now displays the device persona of the device collection or group device in the Devices table.

Filtering Devices

While assigning devices to floorplans at Floorplan Manager, you can filter the devices based the assigned status. From the Filter dialog box, you can select if you want to display the assigned devices or not assigned devices on the Assign Devices page.

Gateway Uplink

The backup uplinks in a gateway are now represented in dotted lines.

Manual Access Point Placement

Along with Automatic Access Point Placement, HPE Aruba Networking Central now enables manual AP placement. Manual AP placement allows you to place the APs on the floorplan manually by dragging the APs. If the APs are not placed correctly on the floorplan, you can also change the position of the APs by dragging and dropping the APs at the correct location on the floorplan. Additionally, you can also delete an AP already placed on the floorplan.

The CPU Utilization and Memory Utilization graphs in the Hardware card did not align with the same timestamp. The fix ensures that both CPU Utilization and Memory Utilization graphs are aligned to the same timestamp.

CNX-57446

On the expanded Wired Interfaces card, uplinks legend was displayed with normal borders instead of dotted borders. The fix ensures that the uplinks legend is displayed with dotted borders, as expected.

CNX-58634

The Troubleshoot page for a AOS-S switch incorrectly displayed success status message and good health icon for the Ping test despite partial test failures. The fix ensures that the status messages and health icons for the Ping test are displayed accurately.

The search results in some expanded cards failed intermittently for partial keyword matches. The fix ensures that the words typed in the search field displays as expected.

CNX-61827

The VSF links are incorrectly displayed in the faceplate of the Wired Interfaces card for a AOS-S stack. The fix ensures that the VSF links are accurately displayed in the faceplate of the Wired Interfaces card.

CNX-63746

The AP Exception events reported under the Alerts and Events page in Classic Central were not displayed in the Events card in HPE Aruba Networking Central. The fix ensures that the Events card in HPE Aruba Networking Central displays the AP exception events.

CNX-64805

In the Clients page, the Connectivity card incorrectly displayed a few extra characters as the heath reason for port flaps. The fix ensures that the health reason is displayed as expected.
