Enhancements to Authentication Profile

The following enhancement is added to Central NAC:

Enhancements to Open Locate

Open Locate supports 6 GHz Wi-Fi spectrum. The AP-615, AP-605H, and AP-605R AP platforms support Open Locate functionality. These AP platforms can utilize Open Locate even if the 80 MHz channel bandwidth is not enabled on their 5 GHz radio.

Enhancement to Troubleshooting Tools

  • ARP Table and Neighbor table are unified under Additional Tests. Only MAC Table and Neighbor Table entries are available to the users.

  • The HPE Aruba Networking Central UI provides users with the following set of authentications and permissions to troubleshoot network and device issues efficiently:

    • Role-Based Authentication and Authorization—Users with any pre-defined roles will now be authenticated and authorized.

    • Global "Read" Permission—Users with this permission can access the History tab under the troubleshooter.

    • Global "Create" Permission—Users with this permission can access the Tests and Remote Console tabs, run tests and RCS, and use the Reboot and Locate Device options.

      Note:

If resource access is restricted to specific sites for a user, they can perform troubleshooting only on the designated sites.

For more information, see Troubleshooting Tools.

Enhancement to WLAN Profile

The WLAN profile under Configuration > Wireless card now allows you to override the default role for APs running AOS 10.7.0.0 and later versions.

For more information, see WLAN Profile.

Enhancement to Wired Interfaces Card for AOS-CX Switches

In the Wired Interfaces card for AOS-CX switches, the role name is displayed for the ports connected to network infrastructure devices (switches, APs). The supported AOS-CX firmware version is 10.14.1000.

Enhancement to VLAN Profile

In the VLAN profile, under switch-specific parameters, ACLs are listed under the Inbound Network Policy and Outbound Network Policy.

For more information, see Enhancement to VLAN Profile.

Enhancements to Search

The Search feature now supports an Alerts category tab in the Search Results page for searches done at the global and site levels, as well as a Go To Site Alerts button in the Search Results page for searches done at the site level.

For more information, see Search Queries and Search Results.

Insights

The following new features and enhancements are added to Insights:

  • Coverage Hole(s) Detected—This insight determines the connection status of Wi-Fi clients with the APs due to poor Wi-Fi coverage. Machine learning determines when a relatively large proportion of the client minutes that consistently have low SNR links. For more information, see Coverage Hole(s) Detected.

  • Optimize WLAN DFS Configuration to Improve Performance—This insight uses global HPE Aruba Networking Central data on channel occupancy and channel change reasons, as well as AP latitude and longitude data, to train AI models that educate users about the right set of channels to configure for optimum network performance on a per-site basis. For more information, see Optimize WLAN DFS Configuration to Improve Performance.
