Alerts

The following new features and enhancements were added to Alerts:

  • Alerts triggered every 5 minutes will consolidate into a single entry in the alerts list table, establishing a lineage for alerts triggered at this frequency. For more information, see Viewing Alerts in List View.

  • The Events card in the Alert context now displays the associated events that occurred in the last 10 minutes for the impacted devices and clients. For more information, see Alerts Dashboard.

  • Enable WiFi 6E to Improve WLAN Performance Recommender—The WLAN performance recommender uses the transmission rates for various network and client configurations to predict the data transmission rate when 6GHz (Wi-Fi 6E) is enabled on the network. Wi-Fi 6E is supported on 600 Series access points and above models. For more information, see Enabling 6 GHz Radio with Optimal Bandwidth to Improve WLAN Performance.

  • Outdoor Clients Impacting WLAN Performance Recommender—This recommender is used to understand which outdoor clients are affecting the performance of the indoor AP. For more information, see Outdoor Clients Impacting WLAN Performance Recommender.

  • Power-Save Recommendation for Access Points—You can now download the list of Site-specific Power-save Recommendations in a CSV format. For more information, see Power Save Recommendation for Access Points.

Enhancements to the Create and Edit Site Workflows

The following new Mapbox controls are introduced to the create and edit site workflows:

  • Zoom—The zoom control displays and icons for changing the zoom level of the map. To return to the default zoom levels, click .

  • Map Type—The map type control allows you to toggle between map types (Satellite, Street, and 3D). By default, the Street view is displayed.

Enhancements to Application Visibility Dashboard

The Applications Visibility dashboard now supports the Include Inactive Applications toggle, enabling this toggle displays the list of all applications within the time frame, that you have set at the Timeline widget. For more information, see Viewing Application Visibility in List View.

Additional Client Classification

The Classification card in the site context now shows clients classified according to their network, roles, and VLAN IDs. For more details, see Details of Classification Card in Site Context.

Enhanced Classification Rules Creation Workflow

The custom classification rules creation form has been reorganized to enhance the custom classification rules creation/editing workflow. For more information, see Editing Classification Rules.

Enhanced Tag Creation Workflow

The tag creation form has been reorganized to enhance the tag creation/editing workflow. For more information, see Managing Tags Using Create Tag Button

vSphere Integration

The vSphere extension in HPE Aruba Networking Central enables the additional functionality of VMware’s suite of server virtualization products and enables users to troubleshoot the compute environment by providing visibility and monitoring of virtual host resources. Enhanced Support in Tag Creation

The tag creation workflow now provides greater range of selection for model or operating system version, and vendor. For more information, see Managing Tags Using Create Tag Button.

Enhancements to Switch Wired Interfaces Card

The filter option in the expanded view of the Wired Interfaces card of a switch now allows you to filter details based on Neighbor Family and Neighbor Function. For more information, see Viewing Network Dashboard for a Switch or Switch Stack.

Enhancements to Gateway WAN Interfaces Card

The WAN Interfaces card on the gateway dashboard now shows the WAN and VPN availability charts along with the interface bandwidth savings and interface usage details. For more information, see the WAN Interfaces section in the Viewing Gateway Dashboard.

Enhancements to Gateway VLAN Card

For a gateway, the VLAN card now displays the all the interfaces associated with the VLAN in the Interfaces column. For more information, see the VLAN section in the Viewing Gateway Dashboard.

Enhancements to Switch VLAN Card

The expanded view of the VLAN card of a switch displays the status of the default VLAN as Not Used when the ports connected to the VLAN are down and when no IP address is assigned to the VLAN. For more information, see the VLAN section in the Viewing Network Dashboard for a Switch or Switch Stack.

Gateway Connectivity Card

A new Connectivity card is introduced in the gateway dashboard. This card details the connection path between the gateway, uplinks in the network, and the internet. For more information, see the Connectivity section in the Viewing Gateway Dashboard.

Gateway Support in Data Path

On the Topology page, you can now view the data path for gateways (sunburst view). For more information, see Sunburst Data Path section in Topology Sunburst View.

Health Status on the Timeline

The health status displayed on the timeline widget is optimized to display the composite health status that is displayed on the Health card. For more information, see Health Status Indicators.

Time Scope to View Clients Associated

You can use the Time Scope to view clients associated with the custom tags and rules that you create. For more information, see Using Time Scope for Custom Classification Rules and Tags.

Reports

HPE Aruba Networking Central enables you to create various types of reports based on the categories using pre-defined or custom templates. You can create a report, view the created report, filter data and customize columns in the Reports table, download a report, and delete a generated report. For more information, see Reports.

VSF Stack Errors and Recommendations

In the expanded view of the Stack card on the AOS-CX switch stack dashboard, VSF stack-related errors and recommendations are displayed. For more information, see VSF Stack Errors and Recommendations.

VSF Stack Alerts

VSF stack alerts for the AOS-CX switch stacks are generated at the site and device level in the following scenarios:

  • Changes in stack topology

  • Changes in stack conductor

  • Addition or removal of stack members

Enhancements to Switch Health Card

The following enhancements are added to the Switch Health Card:

  • The switch Health card now displays the Configuration Status and Last Configuration Change for the devices that are part of a template and default group, in addition to the UI group.

  • The switch Health card now displays the fair status for the high uplink port utilization and the poor status for the high uplink port utilization with Tx drops. The status for high uplink port utilization is also displayed at the site Health card.

AI-Search

HPE Aruba Networking Central allows users to search for information on devices, clients, and related documentation from anywhere in the application, using natural language queries, to help effectively operate their network. For more information, see Search.

Heatmap

HPE Aruba Networking Central enables users to view the heatmap based on signal strength of the radios. The signal strength is represented based on color codes and has a defined range. For more information, see Floorplan Dashboard.

Enhancements to Assign Devices

While assigning devices to a floor you can now filter the device types and device models to narrow down the information displayed. Additionally, you also perform a device sorting alphabetically and numerically for all the attributes on the Assign Devices page. This feature is available for both site context and floor context. Enhancements to Floorplan View

To narrow down information on the floorplan, HPE Aruba Networking Central now enables filtering of the attributes displayed through the Layers panel. Click the stack icon to view the Layers panel where, you can deselect the attributes that you do not want to view on the floorplan. For more information, see Floorplan Dashboard.

Enhancements to Floorplan Manager and Scaling Floorplans

The Floorplan Manager can now be viewed in three modes:

  • Satellite view

  • Street view

  • 3D view

The same views are available while scaling a floorplan using Geo-Locate method. You can use these different modes, Satellite, Street, or 3D to view the targets on the floor and adjust them accordingly.
