Alerts

The following features and enhancements are added to Alerts:

  • Implemented grouping for the following alerts:

    • No Response from DNS Server

    • Delay in DNS response

    • AP Association Threshold Exceeded

    • 802.1X Authentication Rejected by Server

    • MAC Authentication Rejected by Server

  • The Events card in the Alert context now allows you to search and filter the events list. For more information, see Alerts Dashboard.

  • Gateway WAN Uplinks Have Higher Latency Than Comparable Peers—This insight is triggered when a particular WAN uplink has a high latency within the same geographical region (city, state, or country). For more information, see Gateway WAN Uplinks Have Higher Latency Than Comparable Peers.

  • The Insights card on the Network Overview page now provides a summary of AI-powered network optimizations, which improve network availability and performance by advocating best practices across sites.

Application Visibility

The Application list view now displays websites by category and rates them by security risk score. This enables administrators to visualize malicious sites and helps them to detect various phishing, spyware, botnets, and other common attacks. 83 website categories like shopping, job search, sports, and more and various threat categories like botnets, malware, SPAM URLs, and more are supported. This enhanced visibility is supported for wireless clients. The Application list view also supports basic website visibility for wired clients, including website names

Application visibility now allows you to view the list of active applications using three tabs: Any, Applications, and Websites. For more information, see Viewing Application Visibility in List View.

The Security Risk column is not evaluated alphabetically and is based on severity. You can hover over the Security Risk column and click the sort icon to view the risk in ascending or descending order. For more information, see Viewing Application Visibility in List View.

AP Monitoring

The AP dashboard now allows users with administrator access to add, update, and delete notes in the Properties card expanded view. For more information, see Viewing AP Dashboard.

Empty Site Dashboard

A site that has no devices assigned to it does not display any information on the dashboard and all features on the dashboard are disabled. For more information, see Site Without Devices.

Enhancement to Gateway Hardware Card

In the Hardware card for gateways, you can now see information about gateway temperature, fans, and power supplies.

Enhancement to Expanded Gateway Properties Card

In the Properties card for gateways, you can now see the device part number. The device image displayed on the dashboard is updated based on the part number.

Expanded Gateway Wired Interfaces Card

You can now expand the gateway Wired Interfaces card which provides in-depth details about the gateway ports, its neighbor information (such as role and neighbor classification), uplinks, and VLAN information.

Enhancement to Switch Hardware Card

In the Hardware card for switches, you can now see information about Power Consumption, PoE Capacity, and PoE Output of the switch. Also, in the expanded view of the Hardware card, trend charts for CPU Utilization, Memory Utilization, Temperature and Power Consumption of the switch are displayed. Enhancement to Switch Stack Card

In the expanded view of switch Stack card, errors and recommendations are displayed for the following cases:

  • Peer with inconsistent mac address
  • Peer with inconsistent VSF link configuration
  • Peer with multiple VSF interfaces attempting to autojoin
  • Peer autojoin validations failed
  • Multiple port errors on a single VSF link

Enhancement to Switch Wired Interfaces Card

The port tool tip in the Wired Interfaces card now displays information about Neighbor and Neighbor Role. For more information, see Viewing Network Dashboard for a Switch or Switch Stack.

Enhancement to Switch Expanded Wired Interfaces Card

The following enhancements are introduced in the expanded view of the Wired Interfaces card:

  • The card now displays the type of the LAG interface. The LAG interface name is suffixed with MC for an MC LAG and ISL for an ISL LAG.

  • You can filter the card details based on Errors.

Enhancement to Switch and Switch Stack Dashboard

The following changes are introduced in the switch and switch stack dashboard:

  • The details of the Connectivity Performance card are displayed only when the device is online.

  • The Events, Connectivity, and Hardware cards are displayed only when the device is online.

Enhancement to Switch Network Dashboard

The Wired Interfaces and VLAN cards in the network dashboard are displayed only when the device is online. For more information, see Viewing Network Dashboard for a Switch or Switch Stack.

Enhancement to AI-Search

The AI Search feature, now supports auto-completed navigational search queries in the Global context, and information-specific search queries (related to devices, clients, alerts, and so on), along with CPDI-related search queries in the site context. For more information, see Search.

Site Image

The site image uploaded in the site configuration of Scope Management is updated in the site card of Sites window, site dashboard, and side panel and sunburst on the Topology dashboard. For more information, see Viewing the Site Summary Card, Navigating to the Site Dashboard, and Topology Map.

Troubleshooting Tools

The HPE Aruba Networking Central UI provides users with a set of diagnostic tools to troubleshoot network and device issues efficiently. You can run diagnostic checks on the following types of devices managed by HPE Aruba Networking Central:

  • Access Points

  • Gateways

  • Switches (AOS-CX and AOS-S switches)

Unified Clients List

The Properties card in the client specific information page now displays the new Capabilities field. For more information, see Viewing Client Dashboard.

The following features and enhancements are added to Client Insights:

Viewing Floorplan Details

Click the floor card represented in a stack on the Floorplan Manager to display the sliding bar with floorplan details. The sliding bar now displays floor number and device count based on the health status of devices on each floor. For more information, see Floorplan Dashboard.

Floorplan Dashboard

The Floorplan Dashboard now displays access point icon based on the status of the APs. The status of the AP is represented based on different color code on the floorplan. You can hover over the access points to display a tool tip with additional information. You can also click on the AP to display a sliding bar with device details. To find more details about the selected AP, click the Go to Device button on the sliding bar. This navigates to the AP summary page.

In addition to the device and device details, you can also view the connected clients to each device on the floorplan. The client is represented as a grey dot above the AP location on the floorplan. You can also click on the client icon (grey dot) to view client details on the sliding bar. To find more details about the client, click the Go To Client button on the sliding bar. This navigates to the Unified Device List page. For more information, see Floorplan Dashboard.

Heatmap

Heatmap padding can now be seen upto 15 meter outside the floorplan. You can zoom in and zoom out the heatmap to view the additional heatmap padding outside the floorplan. You can filter the heatmap through the Layers panel. You can also filter the heatmap floorplan based on the radio band and list of Overlay Objects available in the Layers panel. Import Floorplan

Administrators can now import floorplans backup file from AirWave, Classic Central, and Ekahau. Import floorplan feature is available only at the site context and not in floor context. After importing a floorplan backup file for any site, admins can view all the attributes including client location and network devices on the imported floormap. You can also edit the floorplan attributes, if required. For more information, see Accessing Floorplan Manager.

Reports

The following features and enhancements are added to the Reports page:

  • In the Reports table, the status of the run is displayed in the Last Run column.

  • The following Key Performance Indicators are added to the Inventory report:

    • Vendor Summary

    • Model Summary

    • Firmware Version Summary

    • Model & Firmware Version Summary

    • Device List

  • Under Preference options, Device Type section is added, and it lists Access Points, Switches, and Gateways checkboxes.

  • Under Schedule > Report Details section, the following fields are added:

    • Email Recipients

    • Formats

  • You can view a generated report in list view, donut-chart view, or both.

Splunk Integration

The Splunk extension in HPE Aruba Networking Central enables operators to gain comprehensive visibility and control over the network infrastructure, through seamless correlation of network data with other critical data in one place. For more information, see Splunk Integration.

Topology Change Reference Point

By default, the system determines a device as the reference point. Change Reference Point enables you to change the root node manually and set one or more devices as a new reference point for the selected site. Change Reference Point is now available as a button in the Topology dashboard instead of three dots.
