Alerts

The following new features and enhancements are added to Alerts:

  • Enable 6GHz Radio with Optimal Bandwidth to Improve WLAN Performance Insight—The insight is enhanced to display a custom tooltip. For more information, see Enabling 6 GHz Radio with Optimal Bandwidth to Improve WLAN Performance.

  • Improve Client Connectivity Experience insight—The Latency per connectivity stage graph is now enhanced to display five vertical bars for healthy SSIDs and five vertical bars for unhealthy SSIDs. For more information, see Wireless Client Onboarding Experience.

  • Application Performance Analytics Insight—This insight is used to understand passive latency of SaaS and Real time applications such as Microsoft Teams and Skype with respect to its geographical location based on the closest peer at the city, state, country, or application level. You can view the analytics for the previous 24 hours or seven days. For more information, see Application Performance Analytics.

  • Alerts Card and Alerts Card Expanded View—The Alerts card on the Network Overview page displays a list of top five active alerts with their severity distribution across all Sites. For more information, see Alerts Card.

  • Alert Management—Now HPE Aruba Networking Central allows you to create various types of alerts. For more information, see Alert Management.

  • Impact Card—The Impact card on the Alert Dashboard displays the percentage and actual number of impacted clients, APs, Switches, and Gateways by the alert. For more information, see Alerts Dashboard.

AP Monitoring

The following enhancements are added to AP Monitoring:

  • Connectivity Performance—The AP Connectivity Performance card includes the following updates:

    • Uplink Throughput displays the data transmitted through the uplink of the AP at the selected time.

    • The Wireless drop-down list in the expanded Connectivity Performance card only displays access mode radios and WLANS.

    • The Wired drop-down list now indicates if a port is an uplink.

  • Hardware—The AP Hardware card includes the following updates:

    • Power Draw is now renamed to Power Consumption.

    • The expanded Hardware card now displays the Power Consumption trend graph to indicate the total power consumption of the AP in Watts over the time range selected in the timeline.

    • The top-left of the Hardware card expanded view now displays the time range that is selected in the timeline.

  • Wired Interfaces—The AP Wired Interfaces card includes the following updates:

    • Port Summary in the Wired Interfaces card expanded view now displays the uplink count and the connection status.

    • Hovering on a port interface in the AP faceplate now displays the Link information if it is an uplink port.

    • AP faceplate Legend now includes Uplink information.

    • List view of the Wired Interfaces expanded card view now displays the device health or client experience of the Neighbor. You can click the device to view the device dashboard.

    • List view of the Wired Interfaces expanded card now displays Neighbor Classification to indicate the type of device connected on neighboring port of the AP. For example, Networking Devices Stack.

Application Visibility

The following enhancements are added to Application Visibility:

Switch Monitoring

The following enhancements are added to AOS-CX switch monitoring:

  • Wired Interfaces—The following enhancements are introduced in the Wired Interfaces card:

    • STP—You can view the spanning tree protocol (STP) state and STP role in the faceplate for AOS-CX switches.

    • Transceiver—The transceiver-related information is displayed in the side panel when an AOS-S switch port is connected to a transceiver.

    • Port Errors— The Port flaps error is now displayed for AOS-S switches in the faceplate and side panel of the card when a port flap is detected on the port. Port Errors also display error messages when high broadcast, high unknown-unicast, and high multicast traffic errors are observed.

  • Hardware—The following enhancements are introduced in the Hardware card:

    • The Temperature field will not be displayed if an AOS-S switch does not support temperature.

    • For a stack of AOS-S switches, the Power Consumption field will not be displayed even when one member in a stack does not support device power. However, the PoE values will be displayed even when one member in a stack supports PoE.

    • The Temperature graph in the expanded view of the Hardware card now displays the ideal baseline value and the recorded temperature of an AOS-S switch. An error message is displayed if the temperature of the switch exceeds the baseline value. This graph will not be displayed if the switch does not support temperature.

Enhancement to Expanded Gateway Wired Interfaces Card

In the expanded Wired Interfaces card, you can now see the hardware status on gateway faceplate and the Link Aggregations statistics. When you click on any port, in the side panel, you can now see LAG details (if LAG is configured). For more information, see Wired Interfaces.

Enhancement to AI Search

The AI Search feature in HPE Aruba Networking Central now supports multiple search query formats, attributes, and time range filters in both the global and site contexts.
Additionally, the search results page now displays a Site column for search results in the global context, as well as feedback buttons in both global and site context search results.

Enhancement to Unified Device List

The Unified Device List (UDL) now displays the latest note (if any) added to a device. Device notes can be added, edited, or deleted from the following UI locations:

  • The device side panel.

  • The device context page.

  • The device Properties card.

Device Inventory

HPE Aruba Networking Central now supports a global device inventory list, which is accessible from the Device Inventory card on the HPE Aruba Networking Central home page.

This list displays the related data of all devices across all the sites on the network.

Replace Floorplan Image

While editing floorplan, along with creating Walls and Zones, you can now replace the existing floorplan image with a new image. While replacing an floorplan image, you must use a image that has same aspect ratio as the older image. Using different image result overlay entities in different places.

Decimal Floor Number

While creating a floor and while importing a floorplan backup file from Classic Central, AirWave, and Ekahau, you can use one decimal floor number in the Floor Number field.

Real Time Access Point Images

While viewing the device details and while placing APs manually on the floorplan, you can see the real time images of the AP based on the AP model.

Note:

Anchor APs do not display real time image of the device.

Radio Channel Details in Floorplan

In a floorplan, HPE Aruba Networking Central also displays the radio channel details upon hovering over an AP. For more information, see Device Details.

Zone Enhancements

HPE Aruba Networking Central now displays the name of the zone above the heatmap for enhanced visibility. Also, the name of a zone should be unique within a floorplan. The maximum length of a zone name is 32 characters. For more information, see Zones.

Client Insights

The following features and enhancements are added to Client Insights:

  • The HPE Aruba Networking Central application now provides client insights integration with Microsoft Intune promoting improved client classification based on Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) attributes. The Classification Details card in the client context displays UEM attributes and their corresponding values sourced from the extension, under the Static Attributes section. For more information, see Viewing Classification Details Card in Client Context.

  • The HPE Aruba Networking Central application provides client classification based on system generated tags for ownership and compliance. For more information, see Manage Tags.

  • The Classification Card is enhanced and updated to support filtering the clients and their relevant information. For more informataion, see Viewing Classification Card in Site Context.

DNS/DHCP Health

The following DNS and DHCP failure reasons are now displayed in the client's Experience card and Connection Steps in the Connectivity Card for wired clients:

  • DHCP exchange failed

  • DNS query failed

Enhancement to Troubleshooting Tools

The HPE Aruba Networking Central UI provides users with the following set of additional diagnostic tools to troubleshoot network and device issues efficiently:

  • Ping Test for Access Points—VLAN, Role, and Source Interface are added:

    Protocol parameter is added for Speed Test

  • Troubleshooter is enabled at site level context.

  • Table Widget is enabled for ARP Table test for Access points.

  • Table Widget is enabled for ARP Table test for Gateways.

  • Remote Console Service is enabled for Access Points, Switches, and Gateways.

Enhancement to Reports

The following features and enhancements are added to Reports:

  • In addition to the CSV format, you can also generate, view, and email a PDF report.

  • From the Reports table, you can now edit an active report.

  • Device Uptime report is now added under the Infrastructure category. The Device Uptime report supports the following KPIs:

    • Average Uptime by Sites

    • Average Uptime by Device Types

    • Uptime By Devices

  • Inventory report now supports the Interface Summary KPI.

Profile Management

Profile management simplifies the deployment and management of WAN, WLAN, switching and overlay security solutions. It provides an intent-based network management experience. Hierarchical configuration support allows users to configure once and apply the configuration at any level in the configuration tree. For more information, see Profiles.

Unified Client

Enhancement to Switch Connectivity Card of a Wired Client

In the Clients dashboard, the expanded view of the Connectivity card for a wired client connected to an AOS-CX switch now displays the Connection Steps information. This includes the steps to establish the wired client connection.

The ports were not aligned correctly on the switch faceplate of the Wired Interfaces card. The fix ensures that the ports are aligned correctly on the Wired Interfaces card.

CNX-54758

Sometimes, the results of a search in the expanded Sites card did not fetch the matching results. The fix ensures that the search results fetch matching results.

CNX-58341

In Unified Devices List (UDL), the search for a switch using a stack serial ID did not fetch any matching results. The fix ensures that the search using a stack serial ID works as expected.

CNX-58671

The search bar on the alerts List page takes more time than usual to load the alerts table. The fix ensures that the search results display as expected.

CNX-58984

While performing ARP table test in the Troubleshooting tools, it was observed that the ARP Table CLI Widget was being displayed instead of table data with different columns and search fields. The fix ensures that ARP table test data is displayed as expected.

CNX-66535

HPE Aruba Networking Central now allows reverse class for GBP-MAC classes in Aruba 6300 and 6400 Switch Series running AOS-CX 10.13 or later versions.

CNX-68950

The delete operation failed for the logging console notify debug severity crit filter testend CLI command. The fix ensures that the delete operation for the logging console is executed successfully.

CNX-68952

The Delete operation failed for the Logging threshold CLIs. This issue occurred because of the generation of an empty, or null-value, RJSON file. The fix ensures that the rest-data is updated for the Logging threshold CLIs, so that the Delete operation works correctly.

CNX-71686

CNX-72978

Modifying an NTP profile from the site level failed and displayed the Failed to update profile error. This issue occurred because the NTP profile was created at the Global level. The shared and inherited profiles could not be edited from the Site level. The fix ensures the profile is editable Site level.

CNX-71376

When the scope is assigned at a device level, the Scope displayed as None in the Authentication Server table and Assign Profile side-panel section. The fix ensures that the Scope name is displayed as expected.

CNX-71504

Client IP addresses listed in legacy central are not being displayed in the HPE Aruba Networking Central UI. The fix ensures that the IP addresses are displayed in the HPE Aruba Networking Central UI when IP client-tracker feature is enabled on switch.

CNX-74832

When the configuration is assigned to a device at the library context, the scope ID is displayed instead of the scope name.
