Insights

The following feature is added to the Insights module:

Improve Access Point Coverage Resiliency Insight—Access Point Coverage Resiliency is the ability of a wireless network to provide consistent and reliable coverage. It dynamically adapts to changes in the network environment and mitigates failures. This ensures uninterrupted connectivity for client devices.

For more information, see Improve Access Point Coverage Resiliency.

Configuration

RADIUS Proxy Profile

HPE Aruba Networking Central now supports the RADIUS Proxy profile under the Security profiles card in the Configuration Overview page. This profile is available with an Advanced License tier, and contains all of the client and the server details to facilitate the proxy functionality.

For more information, see RADIUS Proxy Profile.

Management Interface Profile

HPE Aruba Networking Central now supports the Management Interface profile under Interfaces card. This profile provides reliable device management, ensuring accessibility even if primary data interfaces fail.

For more information, see Management Interface Profile.

Central Network Access Control (NAC)

Third-Party Network Access Devices (NAD)

Central NAC supports third-party Network Access Devices (NAD) such as Cisco, Arista, and Juniper. These devices use HPE Aruba Networking Gateway as the RadSec proxy.

For more information, see Third-party Network Access Devices, Configuring Third-party Devices, Configuring Central NAC Radius Proxy.

Monitoring

Client Health

The new Client Health card displays the client health assigned to the connection type in the HPE Aruba Networking Central dashboard.

For more information, see Client Health Card.

Location Analytics

The Location Analytics page now displays a Sites card, with the total count of unique visitors available in each site present at the selected user account. Additionally, a site icon is added to the map view. Hover over the site icon to display the detailed breakdown of new visitors, recurring visitors, passerby, and the total number of visitors at each site.

For more information, see Viewing Location Analytics Data.

Reports

The following features are added to Reports:

  • For Inventory Reports, the Site, Part Number, and Role parameters have been introduced for the Newly Added Devices and Device List KPIs.

For more information, see Inventory Report Format.

  • The Top WLANs Throughput Trend chart now displays the maximum and average throughput for each SSID. The maximum and average values are calculated for the given report period.

For more information, see Network Usage Report Format.

Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) for Tags and Custom Rules

Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) has been integrated into HPE Aruba Networking Central to manage client tags and custom rules based on user permissions. Users can be assigned Read, Create, and Delete (RCD) permissions, which dynamically adjust the interface to display or hide options such as the Client Classification card and Create Tag button based on these permissions.

For additional information, see RBAC for Tags and Custom Rules .

Security

A new Security option is displayed in the Site dashboard. The Security section provides insights into both incoming and outgoing traffic within a network managed by HPE Aruba Networking Central.

For more information, see Sessions.

Topology Link Node View

Along with Sunburst and Chord view, HPE Aruba Networking Central now supports Link Node view of the topology. The Topology Link Node view enables users to have a dynamic and intuitive way to visualize network structures in a hierarchical tree format. Users can now easily view connections between different devices and seamlessly analyze both Layer 2 (L2) and Layer 3 (L3) topologies.

For more information, see Topology Link Node View and Link Node Navigation.

Improvements

This section highlights enhancements made to existing features and workflows.

Enhancements to Central NAC

The following enhancements are added to Central NAC:

  • The colors and icons are updated in the time travel widget, global dashboard, site dashboard, site and client list, and the client details card in Monitoring Central NAC.

  • The NAD Vendor column is added in the NAC Clients table which lists devices managed by a specific third-party NAD.

For more information, see Clients in Monitoring Central NAC.

Enhancement to Device Certificate Management

HPE Aruba Networking Central now supports role-based access control (RBAC), such as, Create, Read, and Delete within the Certificate Management application that enables users to manage and perform different actions.

For more information, see Device Certificate Management.

Enhancement to Insights

AP Health Insights—The following enhancements are made to the insight:

  • The Action card on the insight page is now moved to the middle.

  • You can download the list of impacted APs using the Download CSV button.

  • When the insight is accessed from the Network Overview page, a map is now displayed with a bird eye of all the impacted sites.

For more information, see AP Health Insights.

Enhancements to Managed Service Provider (MSP)

In the HPE Aruba Networking Central Managed Service Provider (MSP) mode, the Reports card is available. Using the Reports card, you can create and schedule reports that provide insights into device ownership and customer accounts.

For more information, see Reports.

Enhancements to Port Profile

The Port Profile UI has been redesigned for easier port profile creation in a single window.

For more information, see Port Profile for Gateways , Port Profile for APs, and Port Profile for Switches

Enhancements to Static Routing Profile and Aliases

HPE Aruba Networking Central now allows you to create specific aliases, Nexthop IPv4 address and IPv4 address to be referred in a Static Routing profile. Aliases will only be transmitted to the gateway if referenced within a static route profile.

For more information, see Third-Party Switches.

Layout on Network Overview Page

The Network Overview page has been enhanced with a new Z-pattern card layout design to improve visual flow and user experience. With this update, whenever new cards are added or existing ones are removed, the dashboard will automatically rearrange the cards in a Z-pattern, ensuring consistent readability and alignment with design best practices.

For more information, see Network Overview.

Support for RADIUS Dynamic Authorization

In the Security > Authentication Server profile, when configuring a RADIUS server for AOS-CX switches, you can now set the Auth Server Mode to either RADIUS with CoA (Change of Authorization) or CoA Only.
