Alerts

The following features and enhancements are added to Alerts:

• Clear Alert After Timer—In the Alert Configuration page, you can now set the alert to automatically clear after a specified duration. For more information, see Configuring Alerts.

  Note:

  The Clear Alert Timer option is available for the following alerts:

  • USB Device Inserted in AP

  • USB Device Removed from AP

  • AP Uplink Changed

  • Switch Reboot

• Enhancements to the Alert Card—A new filter button is added to the alerts expanded card. For more information, see Alerts Card.

• Troubleshooting Card—The expanded Troubleshooting card in the Alert Dashboard is enhanced for user-driven manual trigger option and is available for the following alert:

  • DHCP Discover Timeout

  • 802.1X Server Timed Out

  • DNS Server Failed to Respond

  • DNS Server Response Delayed

  • Captive Portal Server Unreachable

  • Client did not Receive an IP Address (AOS-CX switch)

• New Tabs in Troubleshooting Card—In the Alert Context, new tabs such as Remote Console, ORCA (Orchestrated Root Cause Analysis), and History are added for better user experience. For more information, see Troubleshooting Card.

• Health support is added for the following alerts:

  • Uplink Interface Down

  • Downlink Interface Down

  • AP Tunnel Down

  • Wi-Fi Easy Connect DoS Attack

  • Insufficient PoE Received

• The following alerts are newly added:

  • Uplink Interface Down

  • Downlink Interface Down

Application Visibility

The following enhancements are added to Application Visibility:

• In the Applications list view, to view the Usage data based on Role, Permission, Application Type, or Server Location, you can use the Filters option. The usage data is re-calculated based on the filters applied. For more information on filtering, see Searching and Filtering Applications.

DHCP Server Profile

The DHCP Sever option under the Network Services card automates network-parameter assignment to network devices from one or more DHCP servers. This option manages a pool of IP addresses and information about client configuration parameters such as default gateway, domain name, servers, and so on.

Firmware Management

The Firmware Management card in HPE Aruba Networking Central provides a streamlined interface to manage and schedule firmware upgrades for cloud-managed devices, including APs, switches, and gateways. This feature allows administrators to create or edit firmware policies, monitor firmware status, and manage firmware settings across various scope levels.

Gateway Alerts

HPE Aruba Networking Central now supports the following alert for gateways:

Gateway Events

HPE Aruba Networking Central now supports the following events for gateways:

• Uplink Up

• Uplink Down

• Backup Uplink Up

• Backup Uplink Down

• WAN Uplink Speed Changed

Jamf Extension

The Jamf Pro and Jamf School platforms are widely used for managing Apple devices in enterprise and educational environments. They enable IT administrators to enforce security policies, deploy applications, and monitor device compliance across macOS and iOS devices.

Managed Service Provider (MSP)

HPE Aruba Networking Central now supports Managed Service Provider (MSP). Using the MSP account, the MSP administrator can manage multiple independent accounts from a single interface. Only the Customer card is supported in the MSP Dashboard.

Reports

The following new features and enhancements are added to Reports:

• The following additional KPIs are introduced for Network Usage reports:

  • Max & Average WLAN Usage

  • Top Devices by Wireless Usage

  The Top Devices by Wireless Usage KPI is available in list view and bar-chart view.

• The following additional KPIs are introduced for Client Session reports:

  • Client Session Summary

  • Client Session Usage Summary

  The Client Session Summary KPI is available in donut-chart view. The Client Session Usage Summary KPI is available in list view and bar-chart view.

• The Device Capacity Summary KPI is introduced for Capacity Planning reports.

• Under Additional Filters, the Include Clients, Exclude Clients, Include SSID, Include Client Vendor, Include Client Role, and Include Client ModelOS options are available for Client Session reports. A maximum of ten devices can be selected.

• The Find Reports option is introduced for the Reports page. For more information, see Finding Generated Reports.

• RBAC support is now available for Reports.

Switch Alerts

• Health support is added for the following alerts:

  • Temperature Fault

  • Fan Tray Fault

  • Fan Fault

  • Power Supply Fault

  • VSF Link Down

  • Stack Topology Changed

  • VSF Standby Missing

• HPE Aruba Networking Central now supports the following alerts for switches:

  • LAG Link Utilization Efficacy

  • Queue Drops

  • Queue Distribution Mismatch

Switch Monitoring

In the Health card, clicking the health reason hyperlink takes you to the specific Alerts page. In case of multiple health reasons, a Show all hyperlink is displayed. Clicking this hyperlink takes you to the Alerts page, filtered by Critical and Major alerts.

Troubleshooting Tools

The following enhancements are added to Troubleshooting Tools:

• Speed Test for HPE Aruba Networking APs render CLI mode directly and do not support toggling icon.

• Cable Test for AOS-CX switches render widget mode directly and do not support toggling icon.

Enhancements to AOS-CX Switch Monitoring

The System Capacity card is now available in the network dashboard of an AOS-CX switch. The System Capacity card displays a summary of switch resource utilization, such as ARP entries, unicast routes, multicast routes, and IPv6 neighbors. You can expand the card to view a utilization trend chart of switch resources over a specific period of time.

Enhancements to AP Monitoring

The following enhancements are added to AP Monitoring:

• Viewing the Virtual Controller (VC) Dashboard: 

  In the Site view, the Type is now enabled with a hyperlink that, when clicked, takes you to the Virtual Controller Dashboard and displays the Access Point Membership List.

• AP Connectivity Card—The Statistics section now displays Total Offline Time in the following scenarios: 

  • When an AP loses power and re-boots.

  • When an AP loses connectivity from Central or CNX for (1) less than 30 minutes and (2) more than 30 minutes.

Enhancements to Central NAC

The following enhancements are added to Central NAC:

• For each authorization policy, a maximum of 32 rules can be created. The Create Rule button is disabled once this limit is reached.

• A maximum of 100 policies can be created. The Create Policy button is disabled once this limit is reached.

• For an EAP Profile or MPSK profile, under User Onboarding, use the Copy to clipboard icon to copy the onboarding URL.

• Users can view the VLAN information in the Central NAC Clients table. This is an additional field which can be added using the Customize Columns option. For more information, see Monitoring Central NAC.

• The Authorization card in the Client Details page is split into the Overview card. This displays the client details summary. The Connectivity card in the Client Details page displays the device type and device name.

• With the help of the Filters icon, users can search for specific data in the NAC Events card. For more information, see Monitoring Central NAC.

Enhancements to Client Tags

New HPE Aruba Networking Central now supports system-generated and user-configured client tags from Jamf.

Enhancements to Connection Path

The Connection Path now displays the following information for wireless and wired online clients:

• Wired Clients:

  • Tx Rate

  • Rx Rate

  • Signal Quality

  • Wi-Fi Protocol Type

  • Radio Channel Number and Width

• Wireless clients:

  • Link speed and duplex mode

Enhancements to Gateway Configuration

The following configuration profiles are now supported for gateways:

• App Recognition and Control Profile—The Application Recognition and Control (ARC) feature enables administrators to monitor, analyze, and control application usage and bandwidth consumption in their networks. To provide in-depth visibility and insightful reporting of the applications in use, it uses Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) to recognize network applications and control them based on configurations. • VRRP Router Profile—Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol (VRRP) is an election protocol that dynamically assigns responsibility for a virtual router to one of the VRRP routers on a LAN. For more information, see VRRP Router Profile.

Enhancements to Gateway Monitoring

The following features and enhancements are added to gateway monitoring:

• HPE Aruba Networking Central now supports LTE modem as a gateway uplink to connect to internet or external networks. The expanded view of the WAN Interfaces card now displays LTE modem details for a gateway. For more information, see WAN Interfaces.

• HPE Aruba Networking Central now supports Health and Hardware card for gateway clusters. The Health card displays the operational and health status of the gateways within the cluster. It also displays the configuration status of the gateways in the cluster. The Hardware card provides an overview of the operational status of the gateway cluster at the hardware level. • HPE Aruba Networking Central now displays access point, switch, and client details in the Gateway Cluster Members List page. For more information, see Cluster.

• The expanded view of the WAN Interfaces card now displays WAN, VPN details, and SLA compliance information for a probe. For more information, see WAN Interfaces.

• HPE Aruba Networking Central now updates the gateway's health status when the following critical alerts are generated in the Connectivity Performance card on the Gateway Dashboard page.:

  • WAN Uplink Status Change

  • WAN Uplink Speed Changed

  • WAN Uplink Duplex Changed

  • Gateway Interface Receive Rate

  • Gateway Interface Transmit Rate

Enhancements to Layers Panel

The Layers panel preferences are now saved at user level in the accounts. While performing any task, you must set the Layers panel preferences at each page level.
