Configuration

Switch Configuration

The following new profile is added for AOS-CX switch configuration:

MDNS —Multicast DNS (mDNS) helps users discover servers, such as printers and Apple TV, across VLANs. It uses a reflection mechanism to enable service discovery between VLANs.

Gateway Configuration

The following new profile is added for gateway configuration:

Central Network Access Control (NAC)

OpenRoaming

OpenRoaming is a connectivity framework that provides seamless and secure Wi-Fi access across a global network of interoperable Wi-Fi hotspots. It aims to create a seamless and secure Wi-Fi experience globally, enabling users to connect to Wi-Fi networks without requiring manual logins and passwords.

OpenRoaming establishes a federation of networks and identity providers, enabling seamless roaming between millions of Wi-Fi networks worldwide. For more information, see Configuring OpenRoaming.

Monitoring

Global View—Network Monitoring

The new Global Network Monitoring dashboard enables users to view, slice, dice, and filter the data across all the sites. You can see client health, device health, client onboarding progress, connectivity performance, and event details in a single, intuitive view that simplifies monitoring and boosts efficiency. For gateway monitoring, viewing WAN Transport Health at site level is now available. For more information, see Gateway Health.

Reports

Troubleshooting

  • The new Live Monitoring tab introduces live streaming on managed devices enabling an in-depth look into communications between devices and their clients. The tab offers two live categories for streaming:

    • Live events for APs

    • Packet captures

Improvements

This section highlights enhancements made to existing features and workflows.

Enhancement to Aliases

HPE Aruba Networking Central now extends support to the following alias for Aruba gateways:

  • IPv4 System VLAN—This alias type must be configured for referencing in the Gateway System profile.

Enhancements to APIs

Most v1alpha1 APIs are marked as deprecated. Use the alternate v1 APIs listed under the same category, if available, as they provide identical functionality.

Enhancements to Application Visibility

The following enhancements have been added to Application Visibility:

  • Applications from all sites are aggregated into one global list, wherever application visibility data exists. For more information, see Application Visibility Planet in Global List.

  • GraphQL APIs and UI side-panel list now show switches in Switch Monitoring with a single Name column. That column displays the Hostname, a health icon to its left, and the switch status, either online or offline, with a health reason if available.

Enhancements to Central NAC

The following enhancements are added to Central NAC:

  • Air Pass MNOs are supported only in US sites. This appears as a pop-up message when creating an Air Pass profile. For more information, see Configuring Air Pass Profile.

  • When configuring a MAC Authentication Server Group only the PAP authentication method is supported. CHAP authentication is not supported. For more information, see Switch System Profile and Central NAC Caveats.

Enhancements to Configuration Health

The following hardware event changes and import failure updates are now displayed in the Audit Trail and Configuration Health pages:

Stack events: Onboarded, Created, Updated, Deleted

Chassis events: Created, Updated, Deleted

Import failure reasons and recommendations

Enhancements to Events Card

Previously, the Events card displayed events from all sites. Now, the card displays events that occurred across categories as well.

Enhancements to Firewall Visibility

The following enhancements are added to Firewall Visibility:

  • Support for Security dashboard in Global view.

  • On-demand sessions support for client.

Enhancements to Floorplan Manager

Previously, planned APs were treated as dummy APs, and a replace action occurred only when the planned AP’s name, MAC address, or serial number matched a real AP. HPE Aruba Networking Central now enables you to edit the properties of a planned AP directly, allowing you to convert it into a real AP. After updating the AP details, you can choose Match and Replace Access Points from the Action menu in the floorplan manager to complete the conversion.

Note:

The editable properties of the planned AP is visible based on the type of the AP configuration.

Enhancements to Insights

The following enhancements are added to Insights:

  • Troubleshooting ORCA capability is introduced for the following alerts:

    • OSPF Peer Down Alert

    • Radius Server Status

Enhancements to Networking Copilot

The following enhancements have been added to Networking Copilot:

  • QueryGen coverage has been improved by enriching underlying datasets and improving join logic across AP device stats, AP radio stats, and client statistics. This allows Networking Copilot to answer more complex and previously unsupported queries, including global and site‑level questions related to AP reboots, radio conditions, roaming behavior, and client performance. For more information, refer to Networking Copilot QueryGen.

  • Agentic‑Mesh actions for 11r roaming are now clearly visible and actionable at the site level. For more information, refer to Networking Copilot Agentic-Mesh.

Enhancements to Notification Rules

If a notification rule is associated with a single destination webhook, the State is displayed as Disabled when the associated webhook is deleted. This behavior occurs only when a single webhook is configured as the destination.

Enhancements to Reports

The following enhancements are made to Reports:

  • The field Deployment Mode is available in the Inventory Report.

  • The CSV file export of reports includes the reporting time period.

Enhancements to Switch Configuration

When configuring Switch Interface Configuration and VLAN profiles, you can now enable MLD and configure advanced MLD parameters for ports, LAGs, and VLANs.

Enhancement to Topology Link Node View

In the Link Node topology view, the Alerts and Clients counts are now clickable. Selecting an alert or client number takes you directly to the site-specific Alerts or Clients page for detailed insights.

The Mini Map now reflects device health using the same color codes as the Link Node topology view. Similarly, when you choose Device Function in the Legends panel, the Mini Map updates automatically to display the corresponding device function color codes.

Enhancements to Unified Clients List

  • You can perform different actions for a client listed in the clients list table. These actions differ based on the type of clients like AP, Gateway, and Switch. For more information, see Client Actions.

  • The following fields are added to the Clients list table:

    • PHY

    • SNR

    • Services
