Proxy Configuration

Orchestrator > Software & Setup > Setup > Proxy Configuration

The following two proxy configuration scenarios are discussed below:

  • Web proxy

  • Orchestrator as a proxy for EdgeConnect onboarding

Web Proxy

Configure EdgeConnect appliances to use a Web Proxy. This configuration addresses security requirements and enables graceful scaling of such traffic.

Configure Orchestrator as a Proxy for EdgeConnect Onboarding

For EdgeConnect onboarding, configure Orchestrator as a proxy to enable Cloud Portal EdgeConnect traffic.

NOTE: Orchestrator as a proxy is not a substitute for using a web proxy. Orchestrator as a proxy is not supported if you have more than 200 appliances.

Go to Orchestrator > Software & Setup > Setup > Proxy Configuration.

The following table describes the fields on the Proxy Configuration dialog box.

Field Description
Use Proxy Select the Use Proxy check box to enable Orchestrator as a proxy. If you enable Orchestrator as a proxy, see Set Up the Appliance to Use Orchestrator as a Proxy.
Proxy Host The URL of the proxy host.
Proxy Port The port of the proxy host.
Proxy User Name (optional) The user name for the proxy host. This field is optional.
Use Password (optional) The user password for the proxy host. This field is optional.

Onboarding Appliances Using Orchestrator as a Proxy

If you enable Orchestrator as a proxy for onboarding EdgeConnect appliances, complete the following steps.

  1. Boot up the EdgeConnect appliance and retrieve the IP address on your management network.

  2. Navigate to the appliance directly using the IP address.

  3. Log in to the appliance.

  4. In the appliance, navigate to Administration > Basic Settings > HPE Aruba Networking Cloud Services.

  5. In the Orchestrator field, enter the IP address of the Orchestrator.

NOTE: Do not update the host or port fields and do not configure the DNS settings on the appliance.

  6. Navigate to Administration > Basic Settings > License & Registration.

  7. Copy and paste the account name and key into the appropriate fields.

  8. Click Apply and navigate back to the HPE Aruba Networking Cloud Services tab.

NOTE: If the Management Interface of the EdgeConnect is not on the same subnet as the Orchestrator, navigate to the Management Routes tab and add a route to the Management Route table.

  9. Refresh the screen after a few minutes. The following alarm should display: “Appliance Registered but not Approved.”

  10. In Orchestrator, navigate to Configuration > Discovery > Discovered Appliances. You should see the appliance you just configured.

  11. Click Approve.
